He was a video researcher, art director, musician, fine artist, video artist, and cultural director. He had his first contact with art through music, which he learned upon joining the choir of Liceu Coração de Jesus as a child. Later, he attended the Municipal Music School of São Paulo, where he studied Violin and Music Theory, but dropped out in the fourth year. He played Upright Bass for the SESC Experimental Orchestra nonetheless. He began dedicating to metal engraving and India ink drawing, exhibiting at Praça da República Art and Handicraft Fair. In 1975 he met Pilar Zayas Bernanos, whom he later married and co-created several works with. In 1978 he moved to Ariquemes, Rondônia, where he set up a sawmill. From then on he became deeply involved in the city’s cultural life: theater, video, puppet theater, and music were some of the languages he sought to spread throughout the state. Sohn also hosted the radio show Gigantes do Som, which played various musical styles. He made performances and took an interest in digital art. He also became involved in public life, having directed cultural institutions in the municipality.
