He relocated to Montevideo in 1995, where he lives and works. He has studied piano, engineering, mathematics, and film, but did not complete any of the four courses. However, he kept directing and producing videos and films, and in 1997, alongside Martín Sastre, he founded the production company Zanahoria, specializing in low-cost animations. In 1990, he created the theater group Huy... la rompi!, which would later become the multimedia collective Dimensión Retorcida, with which he made several pieces, including Los Dientes Más Lindos, shown at the 2nd Festival do Minuto, in São Paulo, and Malena, a multimedia presentation shown at Porto Alegre’s Festival Usina de Arte e Cultura.
