The holder of a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, he is a journalist and writer based in Madrid. While also in Peru, he worked for major magazines in the country, like Caretas. The son of a maid, he grew up in Pamplona Alta, a poor neighborhood in Lima. Due to absolute lack of funds, he completed his education using stolen books. In 2010, already living in Spain, he published the novel Tus Ojos En Una Ciudad Gris, distributed in several countries and a finalist for the Fernando Quiñones Prize. He writes for the Crónica supplement of Spanish newspaper El Mundo. This work earned him the prize Premio de Periodismo Rey de España, in 2007.
