He is a visual artist, filmmaker and university professor. He holds a degree in social sciences from PUC-RJ, a master’s degree in anthropology from Museu Nacional of UFRJ and a PhD in the same area from USP. He is a researcher of Grupo de Antropologia Visual [Visual Anthropology Group] (GRAVI) and Núcleo de Antropologia, Performance e Drama [Center for Anthropology, Performance and Drama] (NAPEDRA), both of the Laboratory of Image and Sound in Anthropology (LISA) of USP. He explores issues such as appropriation of methodologies and artistic practices for anthropological production, experiments with ethnographic imagination and the study of visual culture, covering the uses and processes afforded by new information, communication and digital media technologies.
