A virtual ethnographic study and a digital portrait of Hong Kong as seen through the lens of contemporary popular culture, in the forms of videogame and screen media. The filmmaker documents Hong Kong as simulated in the games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010). Hacking and displacing the logic of the game, the piece turns violent scenes into uncanny tableaux, unearthing a formal poetry that is often overlooked. The piece raises questions about cultural representations in contemporary media.
