In Uma promessa [A Promise], an alphabet of letter-objects made with second-hand clothes and leftover fabric forms the installation of a large-scale suspended text that runs through the exhibition space, imposing an urgent message. Made with ordinary materials, of immediate availability, the installation expresses a cry for revenge for those who were killed so that the structures of power remained the same. The text of the work, written below, seeks to give voice to the defeated, to those who have been reduced to anonymous scraps of the historical progress narrated by the victors.

NOW NOW NOW AND YET BEFORE THIS BULLET PIERCES ME I PROMISE THAT FROM JURUNAS TO JANGURUSSU AND FROM CEILÂNDIA TO BAÍA DE GUANABARA THE POOR WILL CHEW UP THE RICH AND THE DEFEATED WILL AVENGE THEIR DEAD.
