Uncle Bill is based on a series of performances dealing with memory, abuse, the bizarre and retribution. Set against the industrial backdrop of a post World War II Australian steel mining town, its dark narrative explores the psyche of a young girl growing up in a harsh environment. The girl’s fragmented memories of a malevolent and domestically violent upbringing are evoked through flashbacks, sound resonances and brooding atmospheres.
