In 2003, Mroué addresses the connection between narration and dream in his Face A Face B, which won a prize at the 14th Festival. He tells of how he tried to piece together fragments of his childhood memories, bridging the gaps in his memories by using dream-like elements that emulate the logic of real life. The 14th edition featured a significant number of Middle Eastern artists, both in the competitive show and in Possible Narratives, a parallel exhibition dedicated exclusively to Lebanese productions. This edition marked the importance of art from Middle East both to the Festival and to Associação Videobrasil’s collection.
