The artist presents his work Myth of Modernity, one of the works selected for the 19th Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil, commenting that the film, halfway between documentary and fiction, inquires into the impact of modernism in Thai culture and becomes a sci-fi piece where the country’s population is hypnotized by a pyramid-shaped figure of light. Siriphol talks about the modern appropriation of Buddhism in politics and how he turned to the supernatural Buddhist imagery to address the Thai political crisis of 2014.
