The portuguese artist Filipa César talks about her award-winning work Transmission from the Liberated Zones which received one of the three Sesc Art Collection Acquisition Awards at the 20th Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil. In the video, a young man interacts in the present day with documents and statements concerning the solidary involvement of four Swedish in the course of the historical events that led Guinea-Bissau to liberation from Portuguese colonialism in 1974. Filipa states that “[the images of the past] could be agents of the present.”
