Superimposed Readings suggests different interpretations of the shows Southern Panoramas and 30 years, from the superimposition of curatorial gestures to the activating actions proposed by guests. New concepts, other bodies join the routes at the exhibition venues, pointing towards the disintegration of the shows' original narratives, and suggesting expanded contours to the exhibits.

Paulo Miyada
2014 January 18, 6 p.m. — Sesc Pompeia / Galpão and Quadra

In an activity of Focus 7 of the 18th Festival’s Public Programs, Paulo Miyada was one of the guests entrusted with creating activation proposals for the Southern Panoramas and 30 Years shows, held from January 16 to 18 at Sesc Pompeia. Miyada contributed Mixtape: Videobrasil, a short film based on the audience’s relationship with the shows, a semi-documental (or semi-fictitious) piece built upon a couple’s impressions of the exhibit. As for the directing technique, Miyada chose improvisation, borrowed from theatrical games, and provided actors with but a few keywords and programmed excerpts; instead of actors, Miyada handpicked two people regular art show attendees to act in the video.

Aside from Paulo Miyada, the project involved Carolina Mendonça, Júlio Martins and Galciani Neves.
