Programme includes Videobrasil Collection referential works

Macau, the Chinese region of Portuguese colonization, houses the VAFA - Video Art For All, an event which, as the name suggests, brings to population video art highlights. The programming features both works submitted during the international open call, which comprise a competitive show, as well as selections made by invited curators, like Solange Farkas. This edition of VAFA takes place until December the 28th.

Solange Farkas’ curated program A Historical View gives a succinct, yet significant overview of seminal Brazilian video art output in a decade which has proved decisive to this language. Alongside Tadeu Jungle and Walter Silveira’s experimentation, aspects of urban reality are discussed in works by Marcelo Machado, Paulo Morelli & Renato Barbieri, and Fernando Meirelles; in turn, Eder Santos concocts a disturbing conversation with a landmark piece of Brazilian cinema, Mário Peixoto’s Limite. This Solange Farkas curated program is screened from 8 to 14 December.
