Up until 8.1, the Up-and-coming - Int. Film Festival Hannover is accepting films by young people up to 27 years old with no restrictions as to theme, genre or duration. The festival seeks out new talent, so work by filmmakers making debuts or early on in their careers will be favored. Learn more about the event here.

Based in Port-au-Price, Haiti, the 3rd Ghetto Biennale is looking for artwork that converses with the supposedly global, decentralized art market. All submissions are required to have been created onsite, a criterion deemed crucial in project selection, which will continue until June 23rd. Up until 6.30, the first edition of the Modessqe International Painting Contest is selecting artists who express themselves through painting. Shortlisted works will be awarded a cash prize and feature in a collective show in Warsaw. Learn more on the official website.

The residency program of Casa dell'Arte, in Bodrum, Turkey, is accepting entries by young artists and curators until 6.15. Basir Mahmood, an artist shortlisted for the Southern Panoramas competitive show of the 18th Festival Videobrasil, participated in the last edition of the program. The Waaw residency program, in the Island of Saint-Louis, Senegal, is accepting projects from artists or scholars whose practices (preferably) communicate with the local art scene or with Senegal. Registration open until 6.15 on the program’s website.

Campos de Gutiérrez is a residency program for artists, designers, curators and art historians in the foothills of Medellin, Colombia. The program aims to promote interaction among residents and between them and the local community. Registration is open until 7.1 on the program’s website.
