Instability Zone is curated by Júlia Rebouças

Lais Myrrha, an artist shortlisted for the Southern Panoramas competitive show of the 18th Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil, will feature in the solo show Instability Zone, opening on 7.6 at São Paulo’s Caixa Cultural. The show spans six years of the Minas Gerais-born, São Paulo-based artist’s output, presenting a series of eleven previously unseen works, including drawings, video, object, photographs and installation.

Curated by Júlia Rebouças, who is also a member of the Southern Panoramas curating committee, Instability Zone questions the parameters and conventions set by disciplines such as history and geopolitics, acting as a poetical commentary-of-sorts on the signs of power and knowledge in contemporary times.

The show’s program includes a reading of portfolios by the artist, a meeting between Lais and the artist and researcher Jorge Menna Barreto, mediated by Fábio Tremonte, and the launch of a catalogue featuring texts by Júlia Rebouças and Jorge Menna Barreto.
