Dor Guez is a multidisciplinary artist. His installations combine video and photography, and often highlight ostracized communities in the Middle East, be they Palestinians or the Christian minority, and their seemingly endless Diasporas. His Scanograms #1 was shortlisted for the 18th edition of the Festival; the piece was created using photographs and documents from personal collections that were donated to his Christian Palestinian Archive – a growing collection of scanned archival documents, some dating back to the first half of the 20th century, recounting the personal stories of the Christian Palestinian community worldwide. In the 17th edition, Guez was shortlisted for Watermelons Under the Bed, the outcome of a research on interpersonal relationships, national identity, and the customs of the Palestinian and Israeli Jewish communities. While preparing Scanograms #1 to be shown at the latest Festival, Dor Guez issued an open call to the Christian Palestinian community in São Paulo.

Dor Guez is a professor at the Department of History and Theory of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. His work has featured in solo shows at the Jewish Museum, New York; the KW Contemporary Art Institute, in Berlin; and at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. He participated in the 12th Istanbul Biennial (2011). Lives and works out of Tel Aviv, Israel.

In the PLATAFORMA:VB, the Point about Scanograms # 1 details the beginning of the artist work with personal photographs of his family, conceptualizing and explaining the layers of meaning present in the project.
