Channel VB is a space designed to activate the memory of Videobrasil and to expand the scope of our present actions. The featured video and audio documents focus on themes, artwork, facts, and people who have helped build Brazilian and Southern art in the past 40 years. The contents are divided into six channels:
Performances: performance has always been connected with video, and it has been a part of the Festival program since the 1st edition. This channel features recordings of various works, such as pieces by Chelpa Ferro and Coco Fusco;
Testimonies: this channel features reflections, captured within different contexts – like festivals, exhibitions and meetings –, by artists and Videobrasil collaborators of the likes of Cao Guimarães, Waly Salomão, Breda Beban, Tom Van Vliet and Michael Mazière;
Making of & recordings: Videobrasil has come up with new ways to provide coverage of the Festival and to comment on its program. Here you will find award ceremonies, audience reactions, and preparations leading up to the events;
Public Programs: recordings of meetings, addresses, seminars and debates, which comprise Videobrasil’s premier set of actions for audience contact and open-ended reflection;
TV series: episodes of Videobrasil on TV, a series specially edited for television, made in partnership with SESC TV;
In review: features TV news programs focusing on Videobrasil’s activities; includes interviews with Festival organizers, artists and curators like Thomaz Farkas, Daniel Minahan, Arlindo Machado and Stephen Vitiello.
