For two decades they have been developing projects in the field of contemporary visual arts and performance. Their work investigates the relationships between private psychologies and the public space, with the involvement of the public in the conception and execution of the work as a distinctive characteristic. Winners of the Jury Prize in the 16th Videobrasil Festival, São Paulo, 2007; Guggenheim Fellowship, New York, 2002; Bolsa Vitae, São Paulo, 2000; grants and prizes from the Pro Helvetia Foundation and the Kunstkredit Basel; the duo has showcased their works in international exhibitions such as Homi Bhabha’s and Mary Jane Jacob’s Conversations at the Castle, Atlanta, 1996 and Catherine David’s L'État des Choses, at the Kunst-Werke, Berlin, 2001; in the biennials of Gwangju (2006), Shanghai (2004), Liverpool (2004), Havana (2003), Mercosur (2003), São Paulo (1998 and 2002), Venice (1999); and at the Documenta 12, Kassel, 2007. They live and work in Rio de Janeiro.
