He is a fine artist and professor at the Institute of Arts and Design of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora since 1989. He holds a master’s degree in Art and Technology from the University of Brasília and a doctoral degree in Visual Poetics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He has frequented several studios, including those of Arlindo Daibert, Leonino Leão, Amilcar de Castro, João Grijó, Carlos Fajardo, Lena Bergestein, Elida Tessler, José Resende, Gê Orthof and Julio Plaza. His work straddles different languages, like sculpture, painting, digital art and photography. From 1996 onwards he created frequent graphic works for the Brazilian Postal and Telegraph Company - ECT, and was responsible for the graphic design of several stamps and related products. In 2003 he was selected for the Rumos do Itaú Cultural project. In 2010 he held the show Objeto(s) à Deriva, at the CCBM (Centro Cultural Bernardo Mascarenhas), in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. He won the 2nd Prize at the 1st Salão Escola Guignard, at Belo Horizonte’s Palácio das Artes, and an honorable mention from the jury at the 2004 Electronic Language International Festival (FILE). His work is featured in the collections of Santa Catarina Art Museum, in Florianópolis, Brasília Art Museum, and Murilo Mendes Center for Studies in Juiz de Fora, among others.
