Filmmaker, musician and illustrator. Completed a degree in Cinema from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo in 1980. An admirer of the work of Federico Fellini and of Hollywood and Atlântida musicals, he is from the generation of cartoonists who came up, in the 1970s, with magazine Balão, which pioneered underground adult comics in Brazil. The group comprised Laerte Coutinho, Luiz Gê, Paulo and Chico Caruso, and Flávio del Carlo, among others. During that same period he took part in the creation of another important Brazilian comic book vehicle, the Boca magazine. He won several prizes at the Piracicaba Humor Salon. While in college, he met the musician Mário Manga, a member of the group Premeditando o Breque, with whom he composed the soundtracks to the films Asa Branca - Um Sonho Brasileiro, in 1981; and Vera, in 1986. In 1996 he released his first solo album, E La Nave Va, featuring his biggest hit, Deus Nasceu Foi no Brasil. Lives and works in São Paulo.
