Fine artist, lives and works between New York and Rio de Janeiro. He studied at the Parque Lage Visual Arts School. He has worked with drawing, painting, and video, and more intensively with sculpture, mostly in metal. In 2010 he initiated a series of kinetic sculptures, which have been shown at the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro; at Galeria Nara Roesler, in São Paulo; and at Galeria Lurixs, in Rio de Janeiro, among other venues. His work converses with Architecture and Design. At times he appropriates himself of commonplace visual elements, like the soccer field. In the 1980s and early 1990s he frequented both the visual arts scene and the video and film universe. In 1992 he shared a studio in a big house with Angelo Venosa, Cassia Castro, José Bechara and Luiz Pizarro. During the same period he directed, co-directed, and art directed music videos for pop artists like Skank, Paralamas do Sucesso, Lobão, and Pedro Luís e a Parede. As a curator and producer, he organized exhibits for Fernanda Gomes, João Modé, and Brígida Baltar, among others. He was the director of the gallery and production company AGORA from 2000 to 2002. He was also the editor of art magazines O Carioca and Item.
