Film director. Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. Graduated in Law from Faculdade Cândido Mendes, but never practiced it. One of his earliest jobs was directing the 1993 TV series Agosto, based on the namesake book by his father, the writer Rubem Fonseca. He would later collaborate with his father again in the script of the film O Homem do Ano, which he directed in 2003. He also adapted his father’s A Grande Arte novel for the HBO series Mandrake, aired in 2005. He was one of the founders of production company Conspiração Filmes, which he left in 2009 to found ZOLA. In 2012 he premiered Heleno, about the life of soccer player Heleno de Freitas.
