Her work investigates the intersections of culture and science. She straddles different languages: animation, video, installation, photography, and medical electronic media such as magnetic resonance scanners; scanning electron microscopes, which scan molecules; and DNA sequencing. She graduated in Communication at Syracuse University in 1990 and completed a Master of Visual Arts degree in Electronic Art at the Sydney College of The Arts, in Sydney University, in 1998. She is one of the founders of WetLab, a discussion forum on connections between art and science. She was the first artist ever to undertake a residency at the American Museum of Natural History. Lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
