Ximena Cuevas studied at the New School for Social Research at Columbia University (NY) and worked in more than 20 films, in different functions from 1980 to 1990. Her work focuses on daily life, on the borderline between reality and fiction and on gender issues. In 2001, the MoMA acquired nine of Cueva’s videos for its permanent collection. Screened at festivals such as Sundance and Berlin, her work is also part of the Georges Pompidou Centre’s collection in Paris.
