Regina Abreu is an anthropologist specializing in Visual Anthropology. She has directed ethnographic films in partnership with the filmmaker Noilton Nunes, produced by Imagine Arte Cultura e Paz Ltda, of which she is the founder. Her works include Daime Santa Maria; Era uma vez um índio Carijó; Projeto Museus do Rio; Sergio Arouca e o SUS no Brasil. As a screenwriter and producer, she was also involved in the films A Linha do Tucum - a Linha da Lealdade and Kuka Hitchúti, about the Orlando Villas Boas’ Kuarup ritual in Xingu. She is an associate professor at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, UNIRIO, where she coordinates the Memory and Image Laboratory (LABIM) of the Postgraduate Program on Social Memory.
