He earned a degree in Journalism from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo in 1988. He completed an extension course in Economics at Columbia University in New York, in 1990. In 1999 he earned a master’s degree in Capital Markets, and in the following year he earned an MBA in the same field of study from the Financial, Actuarial and Accounting Research Institute Foundation of the University of São Paulo. He worked as a reporter, assistant editor, and correspondent in Washington for the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo from 1988 through 1991. From 1991 through 2000 he worked as a reporter and editor for Agência Estado, owned by newspaper O Estado de São Paulo. In 2000, he served as director at the Deutsche Bank. He was a communications director and partner at consulting firm Tendências Consultoria Integrada from 2001 to 2006. Since 2006, he has worked at BM&FBOVESPA as a Director of Communication. He is the author of six books on financial markets.
