Carlos Farielo holds a degree in Marketing from ESPM (the School of Advertising and Marketing in São Paulo). He started his theatrical training at actress Berta Zemmel’s theater course, and later attended the EAD (São Paulo School of Dramatic Arts) and Teatro Tablado, in Rio de Janeiro. Early on in his career he staged plays at the now-defunct Espaço Off, a mid-1980s alternative theater hot spot in São Paulo. He has been directed onstage by Aimar Labaki, Osmar Rodrigues Cruz (founder of SESI’s Teatro Popular), Wolf Maya and Attílio Riccó; in films by Hector Babenco and Mara Mourão; and on television by Jayme Monjardim and Marcos Schechtman. He part of Grupo XPTO, where he worked as actor and as assistant director to Osvaldo Gabrieli for six years. After leaving the group he started producing his own characters and scripts. On TV, he has created, directed and played seven characters in his show Cafi-Aspirina, later retitled as Cafi-Break, on a local cable TV channel. Some of those characters migrated into theater, making their way into comedy shows such as Terça Insana, Rashowbico, Casal de Segunda and Má Companhia, and then joining the Quinta Q Pariu! company, which he co-founded and directed. He is also a content writer for comedy websites, theater, TV, and corporate events.
