A filmmaker with a PhD in cinema from the Universidade de São Paulo, Adriano’s resolutely experimental work deals with dark fragments of Brazilian artistic and cultural memory. His ten short films and one feature‑length movie have been screened at festivals and shows in Brazil, New York (USA), Berlin (Germany), Bilbao (Spain), Bologna (Italy), Chicago (USA), Paris (France), and Rotterdam (Holland), among other places. He was a Fundação Vitae scholarship holder and one of the standouts in the Cinema + Arts + Video axis of the 16th Videobrasil Festival (2007). He coauthored the book Peter Kubelka: A essência do cinema (2002), alongside Bernardo Vorobow, and organized Julio Bressane: CinePoética (1995).
