Marcellvs L. is an artist whose work with sound and moving image takes the form of videos and video installations. Dilated times and an acute photographic perception, which alter the perception of the ordinary, are often found in the artist’s production. He studied graphic design at the Minas Gerais State University (UEMG) and social communication at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-MG). Marcellvs’s works have been shown worldwide since the mid-2000s. His most prominent solo exhibits include Slow Ontology, Galeria Carlier | Gebauer (2015), Berlin; COMMA 34, Bloomberg SPACE, London, (2011); VideoRhizome, Kunsthalle, Vienna (2010). He took part in the São Paulo Biennial (2006) and the Sydney Biennial (2008), as well as the collective exhibition Imagine Brazil, DHC/ART Foundation for Contemporary Art, Montreal (2015), among others. His works are part of the collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, USA; Instituto Inhotim, Brumadinho, Brazil; and Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel, Germany. He lives and works between Berlin and Seyðisfjörður, Iceland.
