The group emerged in July 2000 as two of its future members, Carlos Serejo and Silvio Ariente, proposed for Ricardo Coelho to create a group intended to produce new relationships between art and art viewers. On that occasion the three were monitors at the show Mostra do Redescobrimento Brasil + 500, which marked the anniversary of the discovery of Brazil with a retrospective of the country’s art history and culture; the direct relationship with audiences that they experienced on a daily basis led them to discuss the possibilities of said interaction. Coelho invited two other artists to join the group: Luis Henrique Guerra, the holder of a degree in Architecture from Mackenzie University; and Fernando Mastrocollo, with a degree in Musical Education from the State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho. The collective thus became multidisciplinary, seeing as the three original members had Fine Arts backgrounds. In the year the group was created, their video-installation Entreolhar-se/es featured at the 32nd Piracicaba Contemporary Art Salon and at the 4th Video Show of the Museum of Image and Sound in São Paulo (MIS/SP). Their video Viraver was also shown at the MIS/SP.
