The work sits somewhere between a portrait, a self‑portrait, and a performance. The artist stands before a slide projector showing a picture of her mother at work, taken thirty‑five years previously. The photo was taken by the artist’s father before they wed. By imitating her mother’s gestures and posture, the artist experiments with recreating a moment lived by her parents, exploring her physical resemblances to her mother whilst simultaneously assimilating her loss.
