Located south of the Andes, the Patagonian ice fields are the largest in South America. A vast desert of inaccessible steppe, the region captured the imaginations of explorers and seafarers, fascinated by what they believed to be the world’s end. By creating a ballet of ‘explorers’ set against peculiar bluish-white walls of ice, the work plumbs the desire for the unreachable, the need to immerse oneself in unknown territory, and the majesty of such threatening landscapes.
