A participative installation based on a six-meter-long hallway with two steel vests, one on each end of the hallway, their fronts covered with magnets. Visitors are invited to put on the vests and meet at some point along the hallway. However, the meeting is made impossible by the magnets, which repel one another. The invisible magnetic field is felt by participants in their bodies, creating a power play between them. This prompts reflection about the different agencies individuals and objects are subjected to, revealing the tacit mechanisms of spatially configured relationships of power. The piece is part of a line of research the artist embarked upon in 2011 on what he terms fields of invisibility, an expression with which he intends to reveal the existence of invisible, yet real mediators that configure networks of power. The piece was commissioned by Associação Cultural Videobrasil, created between September and December, 2012 during Claudio Bueno's residency at Casa Tomada, in São Paulo, and at the Delfina Foundation, in London, in collaboration with the artist Paula Garcia.
