The Desert in My Mind is a 90 m2 installation commissioned by Associação Cultural Videobrasil. Scenes from the Death Valley, USA, are generated by video-disc (eigth channels sincronized by computer) and projected in a environment evoking the desert with extreme climate conditions: 48ºC at around 3 pm! 4ºC at dawn! The sound-track is by Stephen Vitiello, and the original music by Paulo Santos, from UAKTI group. The lighting was designed by Evandro Rogers. “I also work towards that desert inside every human being – the desert of mirages and images we see in our dreams”, confirms the author.
