In a statement made during the 18th Festival, the artist from Rio Grande do Sul discusses key aspects of his work shown during the 2013 Southern Panoramas competitive show. According to him, the three series are part of a project he has been developing since 2008, Fluxorama, which explores issues pertaining to the intersecting of nature, culture and science. His poetics, he says, are built upon the artist’s lack of understanding of the images found in old science books. These, in turn, often present outdated scientic research data. Zózimo regards the artist’s work as fiction. From this perspective, his role is to weave narratives that will tie up different images, a combination announcing a sort of knowledge that is yet to come, the indice of a possible future. He also talks about his background, more founded upon visual culture than on a visual arts repertoire, and about other references from literature and cinema.
