The artist talks about his works Jornais and Pau-bonito, exhibited in the 20th Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil. In Jornais, Lenhardt pours white paint over three sheets of newspaper, wiping out the entire load of information and truth contained in the periodical and allowing other potential meanings to emerge from the materiality of the paper, previously reduced to the function of a media outlet. Pau-bonito consists of wooden bars that occupy the space and challenge the notions of presence and absence, as well as the temporal aspects implied in those processes. The artist states about his works that “it’s also a desire to talk about transcendence.”
