Recording of performance by Leandro Cardoso featured in the 17th Videobrasil Festival. Parodying pedagogy and the spectacle, this performance/lecture is based on an archive of the same name that consists of a collection of representations of bananas throughout the history of art, from Albert Eckhout to Andy Warhol. In the first public presentation of this research material, the artist employs rhetoric to show how a panorama of the global south can be drawn from this iconic fruit, seen as a symbol of historical power struggles between worlds.
