A visual artist, SADIK ALFRAJI (Iraq, 1960) works with drawing, painting, animation and video installation. His work has been displayed in exhibitions at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art (Qatar), Barjeel Art Foundation, Sharjah (United Arab Emirates), Maraya Art Center, Sharjah (UAE), British Museum (London), the Iraq pavilion of the 57th Venice Biennale and Mori Museum (Tokyo, Japan), among others.

Commissioned for the 57th Venice Biennale, Iraq Pavilion, the animation I AM THE HUNTER, I AM THE PREY (2017) plays with the hunted/hunter dialectic based on drawings inspired by textbooks, ancient myths, fairy tales, Islamic manuscripts, anatomical designs, cosmologies and signs of the zodiac. Representations of hunting are ancient, and there is no hunter without prey and no prey without hunter, with positions that often alternate in human relations.
