A truly new year

Videobrasil will turn 30 in 2013. Those are our wishes

2012 has been a very special year for Videobrasil, a year of accomplishments: apart from the new Videobrasil em Contexto commissioning prize, the broadening of the residency network, and an open call for the upcoming edition of Southern Panoramas, we have produced, in partnership with Sesc-SP, travelling shows featuring works awarded at the 17th Festival and Isaac Julien: Geopoetics, the British artist’s first solo show in Latin America.

But 2012 has also been a year of reinvention: parallel to our other activities, we have embarked on an intense dialogue and reflection effort involving our team, our partners, and external agents, so that 2013 will be a moment that combines maturity and consistency.

In 2013 Videobrasil will turn 30 and the year should bring: publications, an issue of the Videobrasil Authors Collection marking the project’s new phase, and of course the 18th Festival are but some of the actions to come. The cultural manager Thereza Farkas is joining Videobrasil, and a new phase will usher in new ways of relating to audiences. Follow us and you will be surprised.

We hope 2013 will be a year of renewed energies and major accomplishments for you too!

These are the wishes of

Videobrasil

Obs.: we will be in recess from Dec 21 to Jan 2.
