Opportunities for artists, curators and researchers

Poland's OZON International Video Art Festival, which occurs from September 24-26 in Katowice, receives until September 15 submission from videoartists with works dated from 2009 onwards. More info here.

Based in Novi Sad, Serbia, Video Festival VIDEOMEDEJA seeks works from artists whose practices include video/film, multimedia installations and networks / software development. The event also accepts proposals by curators and producers for a non-competitive show which runs alongside the festival. Submissions until September 15 on the festival's website.

The 11th International Exhibition Dak’Art 2014, biennial show in Dakar, Senegal, is now open for submissions. Due from 2014 May 9 to June 8, only African artists and diasporas are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is 2013 September 15. More info at the event's official website.

Three Eastern European institutions are open for submissions (until Sept. 9) for a joint research project focused on the topic of Shame (in its relation to the body, identity, society, etc.), to be undertaken in one of the following spaces: Miroslav Kraljevic Gallery (Zagreb), Center for Contemporary Arts (Celje) e Association for Culture and Art CRVENA (Sarajevo). The project D.I.S.C. the Art - Discover, Innovate, Share and Create aims to connect artists from around the world to the contemporary art scene of Odisha, India. Selected artists (submissions until October 10) will start their course at Odisha, and for 3 months will travel around tribal regions such as Kadhamal, Kalahandhi, Koraput, Rayagada, Balangiri and Keonjhar. At the end of the recidency programme, a collective exhibition will be held in Odisha. Learn more about the project here.

One of Asia’s top art contests, International Art Competition (I.A.C.), associated to the Art Revolution Taipei (A.R.T.) art fair, undertakes an event that, besides promoting the most relevant in Asia's art scene, accepts submissions by young artists from all over the world. Selected works will be showcased at A.R.T 2014, and one finalist will be awarded with a solo show at the fair's 2015 edition. The deadline for submissions is December 31, in the event's website.
