During the 13th Festival, the artist from Minas Gerais discussed her Vera Cruz, originally created as a part of the Brazil 500 Years exhibit, based on the famous letter by Pero Vaz de Caminha. She highlights the importance of electronic image experiments made in the country since the 60s and talks about her earliest contacts with video. Impacted by the political events of the fateful year of 2001 – when the World Trade Center attacks took place in New York –, Rennó elaborates on the theme of identity in her work, an issue her early photographic work also addressed.
