Featured in the Videobrasil Collection in Context #1 exhibition (with the Egypitian artist Mahmoud Khaled), Bueno discusses his Estudo para Duelo, which he co-authored with Paula Garcia. The exhibition showcases the results of its eponymous prize, which saw the artists spend time in residencies at São Paulo’s Casa Tomada and at London’s Delfina Foundation in late 2012, where both had a chance to delve into Associação Cultural Videobrasil’s collection. Bueno elaborates on his experience of the collection’s artworks and on meeting his partner Paula Garcia, and reflects about how those two events were key elements in creating the piece. He also expounds on its possible meanings, such as the idea of invisible fields that mediate interpersonal relationships, metaphorized by the magnetic fields the vests produce.
