A visual artist, he completed baccalaureate and master’s degrees in Arts from Universitat de Barcelona, Spain in 2008 and 2009, and continued his studies at the Städelschule in Frankfurt, Germany, 2014, under the supervision of Simon Starling and Peter Fischli. In his work, abstract, fragmented narratives entwine in mediums such as video, installation, performance and photography. Seemingly unrelated elements like images, texts, and film genres are worked into pieces where they form unstable constellations that allude to the contemporary state of information overload. Jacoby’s work has been featured in exhibitions at the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada (2014); the Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen, Denmark (2014); Palais de Tokyo in Paris, France (2013); Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof in Hamburg, Germany (2013); the 11th Cuenca Biennial in Ecuador (2011); and others. He was a resident artist at the Tenjinyama in Sapporo, Japan, 2014; at the Casino Luxembourg in 2012; and at other organizations. Daniel Jacoby lives and works in Maastricht.
