Artist and researcher. He completed a master’s degree in Composition with Digital Media from the University of York in the United Kingdom, 2009, and a doctorate degree in Sound, Music and Media Art from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK, 2015. His artistic practice is primarily based on sound works. In his projects, he explores the specificities of perception, technology and materials, using hypermedia and interactive devices. His academic interests include programming, generative art, new aesthetics, sound and ambient noise. He has presented his work at international concerts and exhibitions at the Onassis Cultural Center in Athens, Greece (2014); the Transmediale 14 in Berlin, Germany (2014); the Q-O2 in Brussels, Belgium (2013); the Audiorama in Stockholm, Sweden (2012); the A.S. Rymer Auditorium in York, United Kingdom (2009); and others. Marinos Koutsomichalis is a member of the board of the Contemporary Music Research Center (KSYME-CMRC) in Athens, Greece. He lives and works out of Heraklion, Greece.
