Curator, theoretician and writer, Claudia Giannetti is director of the Media Centre d’Art i Disseny - MECAD, Barcelona, since 1998. A specialist in media art, she was also responsible, from 1993 to 1999, for the Associació de Cultura Contemporània L’Angelot, the first centre for electronic art in Spain, also based in Barcelona. She has regularly contributed to specialised publications, and has written four books dedicated to the relationship between art and technology, besides editing the on-line magazine Mecad Electronic Journal. As a curator, Giannetti has organised exhibitions in Spain and Mexico, besides sitting as juror in many festivals in diverse European countries.
