Cooperative of plantation workers based in Lusanga, Democratic Republic of Congo. Founded in 2014 by environmental activist René Ngongo, it is a platform for the development of new economic initiatives based on the production and sale of critical art, mostly clay sculptures that are reproduced with materials from the plantation: palm oil, cocoa and sugar. Proceeds from sales are used to purchase degraded land to develop regenerative agriculture to provide local food safety, restore biodiversity and mitigate climate change. The cooperative has participated in several individual exhibitions, such as KOW Berlin, Germany (2022, 2021); and at the SculptureCenter, New York, USA (2017); and in group shows such as documenta 15, Kassel, Germany (2022); and the 21st Biennale of Sydney, Australia (2018).
