Visual artist, she studied at Minerva Academy, Groningen, at the Jakarta Institute of Art and at the Indonesian Institute of Arts in Yogyakarta. She is a co-founder of Cemeti Institute for Art & Society, one of Indonesia's first contemporary art spaces, and the Indonesian Visual Art Archive in Yogyakarta. Her installations made with garments, drawings and paintings reveal forms of cultural and racial diversity embedded in clothing, body and food, and also address social issues such as identity, shared living spaces, politics and displacement. She has recently participated in exhibitions at the Jogja National Museum, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2021); the Setouchi Triennale, Ibuki Island, Japan (2019); the Thailand Biennale, Krabi (2018); and the 20th Biennale of Sydney, Australia (2016). She lives in Yogyakarta.
