Visual artist with a master's degree in film and video from the School of the Art Institute, Chicago. Moving between cinema and contemporary art, his films, videos and installations assemble intimate and affective scenarios, but also marked by Chinese political history. From open scripts and soundscapes, a temporality of minimal events is constituted, marked by associations, coincidences and details of the medium's materiality. His works have been featured at the Times Art Center, Berlin, Germany (2021); Antimatter, Victoria, USA (2020); Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, USA (2019); and Open City Documentary Festival, London, England (2017). He has received grants and residency prizes from MacDowell, Skowhegan, IAS CEU and Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten. He lives in Changsha.
