Luis Duva is a visual artist, researcher, and performer of audio and visual practices. Duva’s central theme is the body and its physical and mental limitations in relationship with the world. In his installations, videos, and audiovisual performances, the forges abstract narratives in which the viewers’ bodies is subject to multiple stimuli mixing the different senses of perception. He created the concept of live images, designating the manipulation of images and sounds in real time in immersive environments. He participated in collective shows in Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie, Karlsruhe, Germany (2006); Museu da Imagem e do Som, São Paulo (2008); Palácio das Artes, Belo Horizonte (2011); Paço das Artes, São Paulo (2012); Museu de Arte Contemporânea (MAC-USP) Ibirapuera, São Paulo (2016); and the solo exhibition Tormentas, Galeria Pilar, São Paulo (2012). He was one of the founders and the artistic director of Mostra Live Cinema, held yearly between 2007 and 2015. Luis Duva lives and works in São Paulo.
