Edgard Navarro is a filmmaker. Coming from a middle-class family, Navarro studied civil engineering at the Bahia Federal University in the 1960s. In this period, he participated in student festivals of popular music, coming in contact with the emerging counterculture of the period. After abandoning his career as an engineer, He set sail on his artistic path, producing, between 1976 and 1981, several experimental films in Super 8, most of them awarded in festivals, such as Alice no País das Mil Novilhas and O Rei do Cagaço. He wrote and directed short and medium-ranged films in 35 mm, such as Porta de Fogo, Superoutro and Talento Demais, not to mention the feature films Eu me Lembro, winner of the 38th Brasília Film Festival (2005). He lives and works in Salvador.
