With faces hidden behind bedraggled mops of hair, a group of people tries to blend into a wintry forest landscape steeped in an atmosphere of intense obscurity. The work directs an anxious, dread‐filled gaze toward nature in order to represent the theme of human despair. Ill‐at‐ease within a visually and physically aggressive environment, these strangers pursue incomprehensible activities as they move through gloomy spaces, seeking some uncanny integration with their hostile setting.
